Preface

This is the First Edition of Sierra Leone in Figures published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The purpose is to provide users with a quick source of essential statistical information on Sierra Leone.

Due to the rebel disturbances that dislodged data collection activities in the country since 1991, there may be some gaps especially 1997 due to the infamous junta rule.

The Central Statistics Office extends sincere appreciation to Ministries, Departments, and other agencies which assisted in providing statistical data incorporated in this Abstract. CSO also welcomes any suggestions that will improve future publications.

C H Lansana (Mrs.)
Acting Director of Statistics
